Who Is

Bob Oldie?

I was born Robert John Oien

in Northern Montana,

the son of an oilman,

and one of seven kids.

I traveled Western Canada as a

Member of The Musicians Union

under the pseudonym of

"Bobby Joye" but I

eventually became known as

Bob Island since the name "Oien"

actually means "Island"

in Norwegian.

I joined SOCAN

(The Society of Authors, Composers

 and Music Publishers of Canada)

and continued to write dozens

of country, pop, and folk songs.

Bob Island Group Enterprises,

Music Publisher (BMI)

was formed after relocating

to Abilene, Texas in 1985.

I met my future wife Heike

(pronounced Hika) in a riot

in a Texas Prison where we

both worked as guards.

 She was the bravest

as well as the prettiest

officer there.

Lately we produced an album

called "Roamin' Fever"

in this eighteen wheeler

while crossing the USA!

Thanks for listening!
